I like my office with a bit of fun, probably because for so long I worked in a cube. So when I put things in my home office, I don’t want to relive the mundane parts of my past jobs, I want the fun or at least not so dull I want to die ones.

I found some quirky office items that are sure to liven up any office, at home or otherwise.

Dude…thinkgeek.com is like one of my favorite websites for cheesy cubicle fun. haha. I wish i actualy had a cubicle to decorate though..hmmm

The Gingerbread House Story

James and I decided to buy a house when we were moving back to Massachusetts from Virginia. We looked around at that time, but we couldn't find the right house. Fast forward one year and we were not thrilled at the thought of renewing our lease so we redoubled our efforts to find our home.

In June we found a new realtor - and we went out with her right away. With six houses on our list, we only got to see four and the Gingerbread House was last. There was an open house that day but no one was there but the selling realtor! We adored the house, and everything seemed to fit, the price, the rooms, the neighborhood. We immediately put in an offer and after the counter offer dance, we closed in August 2009.

Since we've been here we've taken out the carpet in all but three rooms, taken out lino under the carpet, replaced the house trap and a corroded pipe that caused flooding in the first floor bath and ruined the new floor laid in there and had the ruined basement ceiling sheetrock removed, taken down wallpaper, painted every room except one, repainted the stairs, repaired the upstairs toilet, installed a shower, laid new floor in the upstairs bathroom and downstairs landing, installed a doorbell and filled the oil tank for the winter.
